Class of 2017
I am a past student and left in 2017. After taking A Level biology, sports studies and health and social care, I went to Northumbria University to study Occupational Therapy, as a 3 year course.
I am now an Occupational Therapist and have just secured a post working in a secure mental health hospital, helping patients to regain independence and improve their quality of life. I love my job and plan to continue helping others, whilst working within the NHS.
Working on the front line during the COVID-19 pandemic has been a big struggle! We haven’t been able to take patients out into the community to help regain independent living skills or carry out group work, but we have been creative in the way that we have adapted our practice, to ensure our patients are able to rehabilitate.
Follow your dreams, and don’t give up! Hard work pays off
