Students will learn that everyone within our community is unique, and they are valued because of their individual characteristics and differences. They will learn how to thrive together because of their deep understanding of British Values (democracy, liberty, rule of law, mutual respect, and tolerance), development of their spiritual, moral, cultural and social education and relationships and sex education. They will learn how to contribute to society in a positive and meaningful way through character and careers education and through their deep understanding of how to keep themselves healthy and safe.

 Students will be able to demonstrate their confidence and resilience through a wide and rich set of experiences that extend beyond the academic, technical, or vocational. They will be able to reflect wisely, learn eagerly, behave with integrity, and cooperate consistently well with others and demonstrate their readiness for life as an adult.

 Students will become reflective, responsible, and active citizens who are appreciative of the world around them and who are prepared to play an active role in public life as an adult. They are ready to take their next steps in education, employment or training and are equipped with the skills to take this next step successfully.

Every year students explore each of the 5 core themes that underpin the curriculum appropriate to their age through the taught curriculum and development opportunities available for all students to access. The curriculum is planned and delivered in line with statutory guidance Relationships and Sex Education Policy.

The curriculum is separated into units of study for each year group. The AVP: Student Development and Personal Development Lead work closely with the DSL and pastoral staff to ensure that contextual concerns relating to our community and students are integrated into the curriculum.
