The move from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 is an exciting time. For the first time, students are asked to make choices which will have an impact on their future study and career paths. It is an opportunity for you to pursue your passions further and develop a deeper understanding of the subjects you enjoy.
At Grace College, we set high expectations to ensure that every student achieves their personal best. We want our students to leave with knowledge and skills which will not only create excellent life opportunities but will also prepare them for life beyond College.
We provide a broad and challenging curriculum to support all students in their own journey to excellence in all that they do.
As well as the core curriculum of Mathematics, English Language and English Literature, Science and Religious Education; you will also choose a further three options subjects. All students will also receive a double, non-examined, practical PE lesson and a single non-examined Personal Development lesson.
You need to think carefully about what you want to do. The key to choosing your options is to select subjects that play to your strengths and that you are inspired by and will enjoy. This is the best guarantee that you will be prepared to apply yourself fully and thus succeed.
Every effort is made to enable students to study the subjects that they prefer, however if a course is oversubscribed, a student’s suitability for a course will be considered, looking at previous data and responsibility for learning in that subject. It should also be noted the College reserves the right to remove a subject if it is undersubscribed. Should this situation arise, parents will be informed, and students will be counselled about their choice of other options. For this reason, we ask you to choose two reserve subjects in case your preferred option is not available.
