It is excellent to see our students settling back into Grace College life! We consider it a great privilege to be working alongside you in support of your child’s education. We are determined to further their learning and development so that they can achieve their personal best.
We value your engagement; we struggle without it. The College is determined to connect with you more to strengthen relationships between home and school. One of the ways we intend on doing this is through a Virtual Parents’ Evening with your child’s tutor via the SchoolCloud platform. This is taking place on Wednesday 31 March from 4pm, for parents of students in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12. Details describing how to book time with your child’s tutor will be published soon. The SchoolCloud platform will help us connect with you, open a dialogue and build relationships. Tutors will focus their meetings on your child’s attendance and work ethic. We look forward to this excellent opportunity to meet with you soon, having successfully hosted similar evenings in recent weeks with parents of Years 11 and 13.
Further guidance on the Year 9 options process is included elsewhere in this communication. Next week, we will speak with Year 11 and 13 students as to the process of awarding of grades at GCSE and A-Level. Mr Greenshields has helpfully produced a short video summarising the way forward, also contained in this week’s newsletter. In transition to Key Stage 4 and with respect to the awarding of grades, dialogue is crucial. Partnership with you is vital for every student’s future progression.
I sincerely hope that it will not be too long until we can welcome you into College. Until then, thank you for your continued support for what we are doing here at Grace College. We have and will continue to do so much – together!
