The video and this link outlines the ways in which you can purchase your uniform this year.
We want our students to feel a sense of belonging to our College community. Uniform provides a sense of identity, prevents bullying and promotes our College’s excellent reputation. By proudly wearing our College uniform each day the excellent reputation that everyone benefits from is maintained. Wearing a professional and business-like uniform in a smart and tidy way helps to ensure students do not feel excluded from a particular group and helps prevents a feeling of being inferior to others because of fashion statements or perceived wealth.
There also many sound, practical reasons for having a uniform. The most obvious is that it removes the burden of having to decide what to wear each day. Wearing the correct daywear and PE uniform also ensures that students are dressed ready to engage safely in all aspects of the curriculum.
Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring that students have the correct uniform made available to them. Students have a responsibility to ensure that their uniform is always worn smartly and in line with the uniform code set out below, this includes when travelling to and from College. Parents must ensure that all equipment, bags and clothing are clearly labelled with the student’s name.

Buying and Selling “Grown Out Of” Uniform
“Grown Out Of It” is a new, direct parent-to-parent online marketplace for Grace College where good-quality preloved and/or unwanted uniform, footwear and text books may be bought and sold.
- Grace College has its own dedicated page so items listed by other Grace College parents/carers are easy to find
- Sellers can choose to either set their own price or list items for free
- Listings/purchases are commission-free – just a small PayPal fee applies for online payments
- Payment can either be online (preferred) or by cash on collection
- Purchases remain confidential between the buyer and seller
- You can even choose to donate part or all of the proceeds to the college – these funds will help us assist those families that need it most
- It’s also easy to use and a great way to minimise waste

If you don’t want to use this new service but have good-quality uniform and text books that can be reused, please consider donating these directly to Grace College for further use. Alternatively uniform may be donated to (and obtained from) the “Gateshead West Uniform Scheme” whose details may be found via Facebook. Other options for buying and selling preloved uniforms are available. Please keep in mind that this is a new service so the number of items available to begin with will be low.
