Year 11 Geography Field Trip
On Wednesday and Thursday of last week, Year 11 Geography students visited Marsden Bay to carry out the first of their two GCSE fieldwork days. On Wednesday students battled the elements like true Geographers to collect their fieldwork data. Those who travelled on the Thursday were blessed with much more favourable conditions as the rain and cloud from Wednesday was replaced with sunshine and warm temperatures.
The aim of the field trip was to carry out an investigation into the erosional and depositional features found at Marsden Bay. The students carried out numerous data collection methods during their time at Marsden including measuring a beach transect and measuring sediment found on the beach. During both of the days student conduct was of the highest order and as a result they managed to collect high quality data to assist with their investigation write up.
Well done to all who participated.
